Updates and prayer requests
Central Campus: We are waiting for the City of Calgary to approve the Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP). Ideally we’d like to see both the DP and BP approved by mid-April. Praise the Lord that the Construction Drawings were completed and they were submitted to support the BP application. A consultant has been engaged to review potential Energy Cost savings measures for the existing facility at Central Campus, any suggested changes to the existing facility would potentially require a separate budget.
NW Campus: The basement floor concrete slab is now complete. Rough-In plumbing work began shortly after the basement slab was completed. Installation of the steel structure began in March and will continue for several weeks. Air Duct installation has begun. Drywall installation (studs, drywall, insulation, vapor barrier etc.) has begun. As soon as frost has come out of the ground, work will resume on some of the remaining outside work such as site grading, underground utilities and the landscaping wall.
Tenders: The tender process for the balance of Northwest and a large portion of Central Campus is well underway. We are hopeful that the costs established during the tender process will be reasonable and that quality contractors will be available. The NW Drywall contract was recently awarded.
Prayer requests:
- Pray for CSC leadership as they evaluate the impact that the COVID19 Pandemic will have on the Church and on the BUILD project, that our Government Leaders will make good decisions about how to fight the pandemic, for the scientists and researchers who are looking for a vaccine or other treatment, that many people will be drawn into the kingdom of God during this time.
- Pray that weather conditions are good and that frost comes out of the ground on a timely basis.
- Pray for all those involved in the tender selection process, and that the right contractors will be available at the right price.
- Pray that approval of the Central Campus Development and Building Permits will be received soon.
- Pray that God gives the sustainability consultant special insight as they review potential energy cost savings of our existing space.
- Pray for positive relationships to continue with neighbours at both Northwest and Central.
- Pray for safety for all workers.
- Pray for God’s presence on the construction site at Northwest, the Global Ministry sites, and at Central Campus when that work begins.
- Pray that there will not be a repeat of the rain events that occurred during the spring / summer of 2019.
