We are excited about the progress we are seeing on the buildings. On the weekend of Oct 3-4 we shared a Blue Ribbon event showing that the new parking area on the south side of Central Campus has been paved!! Praise the Lord. Watch it here and below are a couple pictures showing other progress.

Updates and prayer requests
Call to action: Write notes of encouragement to people in need. This weekend we will show you a touching video on the impact these notes are having on the lives of people in need who are receiving our prepared meals. Stay tuned for that! Visit www.cschurch.ca/notes to learn more about how you can participate.
Central Campus: Central Campus Phase 1 excavation has been completed and foundation piles have been installed. Work has begun on footings and formwork for the basement walls etc. Our hope is that a large portion or all of the concrete work can be completed during warm / dry weather as that allows the work to progress more smoothly and keeps costs down. The new parking on the south end has been paved; installation of curbs and lines coming soon. Work is progressing in the Worship Centre and we are hopeful it will be ready for indoor services later this fall. Reconfiguration of the second floor office area to add two more meeting rooms is almost complete!
NW Campus: Dry weather has helped us make good progress on the Northwest landscaping with the second landscaping wall now installed. Work has begun on the third landscaping wall. Grading of the parking lot is complete and paving should be done during October. Roof Insulation and Shingles are complete. The concrete pad for the large HVAC unit was poured and the unit has arrived. Work is progressing on the interior including steel stud framing, drywall, plumbing and electrical rough-ins. Exterior windows are complete, and exterior wall finishing’s are progressing. We anticipate holding the first services in this facility in early 2021.
Tenders: The tender process has been going well. Tenders are being released when needed as that gives greater flexibility.
Construction Schedule: Delivery of some materials to both construction sites have been delayed due to factors attributed to the COVID19 pandemic. We are working to mitigate the effect this will have on the construction schedule.
Prayer requests:
Pray for an extended period of dry weather, so that exterior work can continue without interruption, and concrete work in the Central Campus expansion can be completed before cold winter weather. Pray for God’s timing to complete the Central Campus Worship Centre renovations. Pray that efforts to mitigate the schedule impact of late deliveries will be successful.
Praise the Lord that indoor services have resumed. Pray for Pastor Henry, the Board of Governors, and the leadership team. Pray that ministry will proceed as the Lord directs during the BUILD projects, and that they will know the will of God in all decisions, including when to start further phases. Pray for the leadership at all our campuses including Lawson Brown (Northwest Campus), Travis Wilkins (Airdrie), Tim Hayes (Bridgeland), Craig Murray (South) and Kent Priebe (Central).
- Pray for the NW leadership team as they get ready to move into their new Campus building sometime in early 2021.
- Pray that the South Campus will be able to find space as the St Mary’s location is not currently available.
- Pray that CSC’s relationship with Rockyview County, the City of Calgary, our neighbouring communities and the Global Ministry sites will be enhanced during the BUILD projects.
Pray for CSC leadership as they manage the impact that COVID-19 will have on the Church and on the BUILD project. Pray that our Government Leaders will make good decisions about how to fight the Pandemic. Pray for scientists and researchers who are looking for a vaccine or other treatment. We see God’s timing as the Pandemic gave us an opportunity to complete the Central Campus renovations while we weren’t using the facility, AND many in our culture seem to be searching for answers that only God can provide. Pray that God will help us to be “ready for company” in our new and expanded facilities, and that many people will be drawn into the kingdom of God.
Praise the Lord for HIS leading to this point in our Journey to BUILD more room for God. We are excited that we’ve been able to expand our food distribution program to marginalized communities and we are looking forward to having new space in the expansion to continue this ministry. Pray that many will support this program by writing notes of encouragement that accompany food hampers. Learn more here: www.cschurch.ca/notes
Praise the Lord that giving to the BUILD project has continued, though at a lower rate, during the Pandemic. Pray for CSC leadership as they determine how best to proceed in the light of present financial realities. Pray that those who have made financial commitments will be blessed as they follow through on their commitment, as the Lord provides for them. Pray that additional financial commitments would be received.
Pray for BUILD Project Manager, Larry Fournier, and those working with him including CSC Site Supervisor John Harder and the Building Committee. Pray for safety for the contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and labourers. Pray that equipment functions properly and doesn’t break down.
Pray for the Lord to help you BUILD more room for God in your life, family, community, and church.
The importance of prayer
