God is good!! The progress we are seeing at both construction sites is so exciting. Please join us in Praising God for how He has led us to this point in our Build More Room for God journey and invite those in your ministry area to join us in Praise and Thanksgiving.
The stonework on the fireplace in NW Campus atrium is looking awesome!! In the not too distant future, we’ll be able to enjoy fellowship in this space as we pursue the mission God has called us to!!
The picture below was taken from the top of the southern elevator shaft in the expansion. Soon work will begin from this location to install the steel structure of the expansion.
More pictures are available at this link.
The building progress is great!! But we recognize that this project is not about concrete and steel, it’s about US, you and me, the people, making more room for God in our lives so others can experience Him in their lives.
Below is the February 2021 update.
Impact of Colder Weather
We are so grateful that winter weather has been relatively mild and dry. That has allowed some of the outdoor work to continue. Winter weather can be unpredictable and can unexpectedly affect the work schedule, so there is some extra effort for our project team to manage the schedule. Pray for extended periods of mild dry weather and for the project team as they manage the winter schedule.
Northwest Campus
We are also grateful that some exterior work at the Northwest Campus has been able to move ahead including installation of a flat roof area, some shingling, stonework, fascia, etc. There is a lot of interior work progressing including drywall boarding and taping, painting, HVAC, electrical and other mechanical connections, millwork (woodwork), and construction of the platform (installation of steel and concrete). Installation of audio visual equipment and house lights will soon begin. The elevator has been installed and is awaiting an inspection. The team is hoping to schedule an occupancy inspection soon; timing of that inspection will be based on when materials needed for the inspection have arrived and been installed. Some of those materials have been delayed as a result of COVID. Pray for the project team as they prepare for the occupancy permit inspection in the coming weeks
Central Campus
Praise the Lord that we are able to write the names of people we are praying for on the concrete of the Central Campus platform before the flooring is installed. We look forward to how God will answer those prayers in the months and years ahead, perhaps in the very space where the names are recorded!! Phase 1 concrete work (foundation, elevator shafts etc.) for the expansion continues. Installation of the steel structure for the expansion will begin soon and could take about 3 months. About one third of the Chapel has been hoarded so that steel in the ceiling can be reinforced in preparation for tying in the expansion. The second floor & stairwell in the NE corner (the rehearsal room) is starting to take shape with a recent concrete pour in that space. Finishings such as doors and rubber bases are progressing in the new meeting rooms on the second floor in the SE corner. Pray that installation of the steel structure will proceed safely during the winter.
