God is good!! The progress we are seeing at both construction sites is so exciting. Please join us in Praising God for how He has led us through our BUILD more room for God journey and invite those in your ministry area to join us in praise and thanksgiving.
We are excited that some of the design elements of the Bearspaw Campus (Northwest Campus) worship centre are similar to the Central Campus worship centre. As you can see, the space will also be used as a gym and we are praying that Gods presence will be here in all the different ways the space will be used. Pray for all who will come into this space, including our neighbours.
Have you wondered what happened to all the soil that came out of the excavation at Central Campus? As you can see below, it has been piled on the perimeter of the property and we recently covered it up to prevent it from blowing away!! Good thing!! It was covered before the big windstorm we recently experienced. You can see some steel there as well which will soon be installed in the expansion.
More pictures are available at this link.
The building progress is great!! But we recognize that this project is not about concrete and steel, it’s about US, you and me, the people, making more room for God in our lives so others can experience Him in their lives.
Below is the April 2021 update.
Weather
Warmer spring weather is here! This will allow outside work to resume at both construction sites. At Northwest this means that landscaping will soon resume and we can pave the parking lot when asphalt plants reopen. At Central this means that the south parking lot line painting can soon be completed.
Northwest Campus
Interior work (painting, carpet, doors, cabinetry, plumbing etc.) and outside work (some shingling,
stonework, soffits, facia etc.) is progressing well. There have been some delays in receipt of materials such as floor tile; which means the occupancy inspection will be scheduled after those materials are delivered and installed. We are excited that we will soon be able to worship, disciple and enjoy community with each other in this space and invite neighbours in that area to join us in compliance with health and safety standards during COVID-19.
Central Campus
Installation of the steel structure in the Central Campus expansion recently resumed after a cold
weather delay where heat was applied to the ground to mitigate frost risk. The NE corner has seen significant progress including electrical rough-in, and installation of a RTU (Roof Top Unit) to provide upgraded heating and air conditioning in that area. Flooring was installed on the worship centre platform. Some demolition is progressing in the special needs ministry and children’s ministry area to get ready for the expansion!
Financial Snapshot
Giving towards our minimum $18M goal is available at this link. Giving is behind and we appreciate your prayers. If you are able to help us reach the goal, there is information at the link about how to give.
The financial plan for the project is available at this link.
We will have open house opportunities later this spring to learn more about project updates, including costs and decisions about moving forward with subsequent phases of Central Campus construction.
Importance of Prayer
Thank you for your ongoing prayers for the ministry of Centre Street Church; during this season of BUILD thank you in particular for your prayers for the project. We invite you to visit this link for a list of prayer requests.
