Praise the Lord!! Central Campus is making good progress and Bearspaw Campus (Northwest Campus) will be opening sometime this summer. And yes… you read that right! It will be called ‘Bearspaw Campus’ in keeping with our desire to name our permanent facilities after the communities in which we worship, gather and serve.
God is good. Next month we will be looking back and celebrating how far we’ve come on our three year journey to BUILD more room for God. We did not meet our financial goal to give $18 million, but we have accomplished so much with God’s help. We can’t wait to reflect together as a church family on the various ways that God led us. We were stretched spiritually, financially and physically; and in all things we give praise to Him as He has guided and continues to guide us through our construction challenges and in many other ways as we Build more room for God in our lives.
Stay tuned for updates on our finances and the way forward as we step into a new chapter of giving. We will share details, costs and construction updates in June, including a BUILD Town Hall on June 7, which will be followed by our semi-annual BUILD offering – opportunities to give a special over-and-above gift to BUILD throughout the month. This month you will also be able to check out our new BUILD website, with more up to date information on our projects, our financial journey and the plan going forward.
Please join us in Praising God for how He has led us through our BUILD more room for God journey and invite those in your ministry area to join us in praise and thanksgiving.
The floor tiles recently arrived at Bearspaw Campus (Northwest Campus) and are being installed; we are incredibly pleased at how warm and welcoming they make this space! Tiles are one of the elements that need to be installed before an occupancy inspection is scheduled; pray that the rest of the awaited materials arrive and pray for that inspection. Pray for our neighbours; the homes of some can be seen through the windows in this picture.
We are so thankful for the skilled workers who are putting up the steel frame of the Central Campus expansion. Please keep these workers in your prayers as they are working at height; they are following the appropriate safety procedures; we also ask your prayers for their safety.

This project is not about concrete and steel, it is about US, you and me, the people, making more room for God in our lives so others can experience Him in their lives. This spring, pastor Henry is reminding us of that by taking us through a series of sermons titled “How then shall we live?” where we are hearing again about our five pursuits. We encourage you to listen to these sermons here.
Below is the May 2021 update.
Weather
Spring weather is here! Outside work has resumed at both construction sites and will continue to ramp up as the weather continues to warm. Wet weather can make outside progress difficult; please pray for warm/dry weather.
Northwest Campus
Interior work (painting, carpet, doors, cabinetry, plumbing etc.) is progressing well. After a significant delay, floor tile has arrived and is being installed. We are waiting for some doors to be delivered and installed. An occupancy inspection will be scheduled for an appropriate time after the tiles and doors are installed and then we will need time to move in and get settled. Outside work (some shingling, stonework, soffits, facia etc.) is also progressing well. Landscaping will resume soon, and we expect to be able to pave the parking lot in the near future. Soon we will be able to worship, disciple and enjoy community with each other in this space and invite neighbours in that area to join us in compliance with health and safety standards during COVID-19.
Central Campus
Installation of the steel structure in the Central Campus expansion is continuing and we have been able to install the steel decking and electrical rough-in on parts of the steel structure. Drywall, electrical and mechanical work is progressing on the new second floor in the NE corner. Demolition of some Special needs and Children’s ministry spaces on both floors on the west side is complete and these spaces are now ready for new construction. The washrooms on the second level on the west side have been demolished to prepare for new full-sized washrooms.
Financial Snapshot
Giving towards our minimum $18M goal is available at this link. Giving is behind and we appreciate your prayers. If you would like to help us reach the goal, there is information at the link about how to give.
The financial plan for the project is available at this link.
We will have an open house on June 7 to give an update on construction progress, costs and decisions about moving forward with additional phases of Central Campus construction, and will take your questions at this meeting. Please mark your calendars and watch for other announcements about this important event.
