Praise the Lord!! We are so grateful for how God has led us and continues to lead us! Thank you for your continued prayers and giving. Below is the November 2021 update.

 

New Giving Goal

In our June BUILD Townhall, we extended the giving period because we did not reach our giving goal and there have been cost increases. In October, after further cost clarifications, we shared that our new giving goal is $9.8M; watch the video here. 

The goal includes:

  • $2.3M is the shortfall from our previous goal, which had not yet been adjusted for cost increases.
  • $7.5M is the net cost increase including all new and previously communicated cost increases, for the entire project, including Bearspaw, Central, Global and other campuses. One Project, Many Locations.

The remaining construction is expected to take about two years, and if giving to the projects continues at the current rate, the project could be fully paid in about three years.

We celebrate how God has moved in the last three years of our BUILD journey. We closed Chapter 1 of our giving journey with $15.7M received. Praise the Lord. We are stepping into chapter 2 of our giving journey and we are trusting the Lord for giving to continue as we complete the work. Giving received to date is available at this link.

 

Bearspaw Campus

The first services in the new campus were held in September. The opening service was very well attended (700+ people), and the following weekend the campus began having two Sunday services (9 & 11). Even with another wave of COVID and subsequent gathering restrictions, our overall attendance has continued to be around double the post-covid attendance at our previous venue. We believe this is an important early indicator of the need for this church building and this church community in this location! We are excited that some of our neighbours have come to services. Pray that our neighbours will be drawn to Jesus. 

The Regional Pathway was recently paved as shown below, but landscaping is taking longer than hoped. If the weather holds, there is still a possibility landscaping could be complete this fall; if not some could be deferred to next spring. Pray with us for good progress this fall. We have installed security gates at the entrances to the parking lot. 

Central Campus

As shown in the picture below, roof trusses above the gym area were recently installed. The team is working to fully enclose the expansion so it can be heated; that will make it easier for work to progress during the winter months. Most of the concrete floors have been poured except the floor in the gym area which will be poured in the next several weeks, and the floor on the main/grade level which will be poured after earth work (piping etc.) is complete – potentially during the winter months. Portions of the NE corner renovation on the lower level such as the AV (Audio Visual) room are complete, and we have begun moving in. The wheelchair lift has been installed in the NE corner.

Importance of Prayer

Thank you for your ongoing prayers for the ministry of Centre Street Church, and for the BUILD journey thus far. As the BUILD project moves into the next chapter, we invite you to continue praying. 

  • Pray for our leaders and for the decisions that need to be made including the pace of moving forward. 
  • Pray about what role you might have in supporting the project through your prayers and as the Lord leads you, through your giving. 
  • Pray for safety on the construction sites and for the Project Manager and the Building Committee.
