September 2023 Update

God is moving! We’re kicking off an exciting ministry year this Fall and we are excited to see God moving in our hearts and in the lives of our family and friends as we Belong, Grow and Serve together. We praise God for a very eventful summer for our BUILD projects; washroom renovations at Central Campus are complete! The expansion will be opening after we’ve completed the remaining work and received an Occupancy permit; please join us in praying for Gods continued guidance and His timing.   

Did you know?

God has been bringing more people to Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and other discipling ministries across CSC this past ministry year! There has been so much growth that we’ve had to turn some Children away at our Sunday 11AM services. Once we have the extra space we estimate 20% growth in our Children’s Ministry. Would you pray about how you can help accommodate that growth? We encourage you to sign up for one of many volunteer roles needed to supporting discipling the next generation. Below watch Buki’s story and be inspired by how God has blessed her in her journey as a Children’s Ministry volunteer.

Thank you to all volunteers who helped us clean the new spaces! We will still be needing more rounds of cleaning over the next several weeks. Here are this month’s top construction updates at Central Campus:
  • Renovations of the main floor washrooms at Central Campus are complete.
  • Concrete sidewalk installation on the northwest and west has been completed.
  • Painting and installation of doors, door frames and door glazing (windows) continues.
  • Connections between the existing facility and the expansion are being developed, including the expansion of the chapel.
  • Installation of a second entrance to the south parking lot from 38 Ave has begun and we expect paving will occur soon.
  • The northwest and west areas next to the expansion are being cleared in preparation for paving.
  • Interior work continues and several trades have competed their work; that work is being inspected.
  • A scissor lift has been installed in the north loading dock.
  • Waste disposal units have been installed on the east side of the existing building.
  • We are starting to clean portions of the expansion in preparation for occupancy, which we hope will occur sometime this fall.
  • Renovations in the SW corner of the existing building will begin sometime this fall, after receiving the occupancy permit for the expansion.

Children’s Ministry is like a garden!

"When the children are there, and the message, or craft might pertain to something I’m going through, and I begin to feel like – was this for the kids or was it for me? …. This is like a garden in Children's Ministries. You get to plant the seeds and then you watch the seeds grow, you watch the kids begin to know God, begin to ask questions. You get to search the Bible with them. You learn. They learn. And then they take that away. That seed is planted. You get to be a part of that. Isn’t that exciting?”

Finance Update

We are grateful for how, through your generosity to July 2023, God has provided $20.9M (Chapter 1 $15.7M, Chapter 2 $5.2M) leaving $4.6M remaining in our Chapter 2 goal. We still have a way to go to reach our goal. Thank you for continuing to pray and persevere with us in our journey to “complete the work,” physically, spiritually, and financially, in the spirit of 2 Corinthians 8:11.
