August 2022 Update
The sermon series this summer from the book of Exodus has reminded us of the Providence of God in all our life experiences. Sometimes we wonder why are going through difficult experiences, but we are reminded that God is in control, and he continues to equip us to live life to the full in spite of challenges by serving Him and experiencing His goodness. If you’ve missed some of those sermons, they are available here.
We look forward to the beginning for the Fall ministry season and believe God will continue to direct us in ministry and in our journey to BUILD more spaces with a missional purpose so that more can come and experience the spiritual and physical freedom we have been exploring in Exodus. It is exciting to see the progress on the buildings and we are even more excited about how God will use the new spaces for His Glory!
Construction of the Central Campus expansion is continuing through the summer, and we are close to finalizing the landscaping and remaining exterior elements at Bearspaw Campus.
- Have you had an opportunity to contribute to our faith journey to BUILD more room for God? If not, would you prayerfully seek the Lord for His will for your generosity towards these projects. Giving has been below forecast recently and we still have a way to go to reach our financial goal which is described here. Donations can be accepted at any time.
- Our annual BUILD update was presented online on May 30th. If you missed it, it’s available in the video below.
These are this month’s top construction updates:
- Central Campus exterior stucco is over 90% complete! Praise the Lord!
- Central Campus staff offices have been moved onto the new second floor in the NE corner.
- An incline “lift" (pictured) will move wheelchairs from the new exterior NE entrance to the floor, and an elevator “lift" provides wheelchair access to the new second floor.
- The Central Campus roof is almost fully complete. Some minor work remains.
- The west wall of the existing Central Campus chapel has been removed to connect it to the expansion space.
- Interior work at Central Campus including steel stud framing, insulation, drywall, mechanical rough-ins, electrical rough-ins, fire-spray is continuing.
- Bearspaw Campus Café is open to the public so people from the church or from the community can come in and enjoy a cup of coffee and have some great conversations! The café is open from 8:30 AM – 1:30PM Tuesdays to Thursdays. To check on Bearspaw Campus Café hours which could change, visit our webpage here.
- Landscaping at Bearspaw Campus is advancing and will be complete by the end of August!! The design is known as Xeriscaping which is based off a natural grassland landscape with tall mature grass, trees and shrubs.
- At Bearspaw, the fence around the mechanical unit and the pergola are being constructed.

Update Videos
May and June were eventful months for our BUILD journey as we celebrated 4 years of following God’s leading and building! Watch the 45-minute online BUILD update event where we lead our staff and board through tours of the Central Campus expansion area while sharing inspiring stories, thoughts and ideas about how God will move in the lives of people who come to these future spaces. Additionally, you can watch shorter video snippets of people writing and drawing what God put on their hearts for the future of His church.
Importance of Prayer
Prayer of the month
Pray that God enable the project team to fully complete the remaining activities at Bearspaw Campus, namely the landscaping, before the end of the summer. This matters so much to our neighbours!

Finance Update
Giving in 2022 has been below forecast. As of June 2022 we have given $2,680K (27.3%) towards our goal of $9.8M. We are grateful for what the Lord has supplied; we still have a way to go to reach our goal. Thank you for continuing to pray and persevere with us in our journey to “complete the work,” physically, spiritually, and financially, in the spirit of 2 Corinthians 8:11.

I am so excited about this because there are so many people who want to come to Alpha in person. We have had an incredible Alpha Zoom experience, but being on your computer screen is different than being around tables. When I look at this space I can just imagine 15-20 tables, eight people around each table all asking questions about Jesus and learning about why believing in God is important. And not only by themselves on their own couch but with people interacting. I’m extremely excited about when this space opens up for people!
