Whether you’re at a weekend worship service, Concert of Prayer, Encounter God retreat, helping others move, or supporting a HART event, you are likely to see Larry and Marg McAvoy, serving in their quiet, humble way – choosing to use their time and talents to serve God and others. To them, volunteering is not just getting a job done but an opportunity to be involved in people’s lives, sharing God’s love with everyone they encounter. They met 14 years ago in our CSC Singles’ ministry, where Larry was leading a Bible study for newcomers and were married the next year. Pastor Henry’s encouragement to live simply so that we have time and resources to invest in growing God’s Kingdom has inspired them to see that they’ve been blessed to bless others. “When we look after the little things God puts before us, He does the big things – performing miracles in people’s lives – and we get to be part of that!” For Larry and Marg, volunteering with CSC has been an incredibly fun and rewarding journey, full of divine appointments, all for the glory of God.

We praise God for each person who volunteers faithfully at Centre Street Church, partnering with us to introduce people to Christ and help them become fully devoted followers. Our volunteers form an integral part of our ministry as they use their God-given gifts, time and talents to serve God and others, growing His Kingdom and becoming more like Christ who came to serve rather than to be served (Matthew 20:28).
