Pursuing Generosity

“I was just coming out of maternity leave and lost work at the beginning of the pandemic. One of the first things we did was write a cheque to BUILD more room for God. Although it challenged me deeply to give during an uncertain time, the act of giving affirmed that we were trusting God, and it sent a signal to my own racing mind and heart that we were going to be ok. I was surprised how much the transaction put an interruption to my physical anxiety, producing a sense of calm. It was all in God’s hands now. A few weeks later my husband received a significant financial gift from his mother, and a few weeks after that I was back to work again. God did more than just reimburse my family for our gift. He provided over and above what was originally given, and we continue to give back to God.”
