More room for God around the world

God is using us to BUILD His church here and around the world.

10 per cent of all contributions to BUILD more room for God are going toward construction of churches and/or ministry centres around the world. This includes helping to pay for construction of the Centre for the City which will be a significant asset in our Global ministry. Since we began our journey in 2018, God has enabled us to help several Global Ministry partners transform the vision to which God has called them, into reality.

Announcing three new construction projects:

As of 2024, your generosity is supporting three new construction and renovation projects, including:

  • Victory Foundation: a local faith-based affordable housing project for seniors, single moms and women in need.
  • La Hermosa Church: a church supporting indigenous communities in Mexico; and,
  • Inundo: accommodations for a ministry training centre empowering local farmers to build up food security God’s Way in South Africa

South Africa

Reconciliation Road is a church in South Africa that is tearing down racial divisions and now planting other churches with support from CSC, training and equipping an entire team of church planters. Their new church building sits on the border between an affluent, predominately white urban community and a deeply impoverished community of black people, serving like a bridge by providing a library, soccer field, free wifi and a safe place where kids come and play.

Four Churches in Ukraine

In 2019, CSC announced the construction of a church in Rivne Ukraine. The church was one of four churches in Ukraine being supported by funds from BUILD in partnership with Humanitarian Aid Response Team (HART). Two of these churches are being built to transform lives in poverty-stricken gypsy villages, Kherson and Berezhany. They will be used not only as churches but as a community centre and a school where people will learn how to read and write.

Ministry Centres in SE Asia

BUILD funds were put towards resourcing a training centre in a country (we can’t name) where church buildings are not allowed and Bibles are being destroyed and replaced with alternative texts espousing political ideology. The facility provides Bible training to house church pastors, verse by verse and chapter by chapter, allowing pastors to go back and replicate scripture with other pastors and church members. BUILD funds supported the resourcing of this training centre with beds, projectors, air conditioning units, desks, computers and a library.

Additionally, some funding towards our Global Mission Capital projects will support construction of the Centre for the City which will be a significant enabler of our Global Mission objectives on the local level.

THE NEED

Honour our commitment to tithe as a church and impact the world for Christ

As part of the “BUILD more room for God” campaign, our global vision is to support capital projects of church building(s) and/or a Ministry Centre(s) on five continents, including North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. We are currently in the process of working with our existing partners in these continents to establish specific plans to build. We ask that you pray with us and give generously so we can build more room for God around the world.

Throughout the history of CSC, God has led us through significant seasons of contemplation, prayer and growth. In 2008, we felt God leading us to become a multi-site church so that a vibrant missional presence was expressed through and experienced by thousands of people across a wider metropolitan area united by one mission while unencumbered by geographic and resource limitations. At the governance level, our campuses have been unified under one Board, one Senior Pastor, one set of operational policies and one strategic plan, allowing for stronger cohesion of people and more efficient and effective use of resources. God has led us through many challenges but through prayer and effective leadership and governance, we are staying on mission. Much of this would not have been possible without the remarkable generosity of our adherents and the stewardship of these resources. Looking ahead, I believe God is ‘showing us a new thing.’ Isaiah 43:19 says: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

“Thank you so much for your gift in support of Empower’s training centre in Southeast Asia. The funds you supplied either constructed or furnished dorms, a library, a hydroponic farm, a kitchen and eating areas, plus provided audio/visual equipment for the large training room. All the construction has been completed and Bible training classes are fully underway on a regular basis. Not only this, but a local congregation is also using the facilities for a new church plant.

The impact of your investment is great for the Kingdom of God. In the countries of Asia, there is a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit, with multitudes turning to the Lord. National church leaders have told us repeatedly that their greatest need is biblical/theological training to keep up with the explosive church growth. Thousands of pastors are growing in faith and knowledge at the training centre, while the Holy Spirit is anointing them for extremely fruitful ministry. This is why your support was so timely in the plan of God for this region of the world. Many thanks from the national pastors and churches of Asia.”

“Our presence in the community has helped us become a permanent part of the neighbourhood. This has encouraged people to come to church and has resulted in neighbours being saved and added to our church community. In the first year in our building, we ran an Alpha course for over 100 people who we were seeking to reach for Christ, and our building has facilitated Church Planter Training meetings for the past four years. Multiple community groups (small groups) come that do not have big enough houses to meet in and the building has provided a venue for our youth to grow and reach other youth. We’ve even been able to partner with a school on our property, giving us ministry opportunities with the children and their parents. It has enabled us to host very low-cost conferences and provide a venue for exercise and soccer practices. Our building never sleeps!”
